First WIP Wednesday of the New Year

Ahhh...another year of WIP Wednesdays. The biggest one on my list this week is my Fair Isle Quilt.
Here it is, all pieced before Christmas. Then, I stalled out with no backing in sight. As soon as I solved that problem, I got down to pin basting on the floor.

And got it all done. One of my least favorite parts of quilting. Hard on the knees and the back.
And now the quilting is begun. I am quilting in an all over swirly pattern. It reminds me of blowing snow. Very appropriate for a winter quilt, I think. Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.
You can find my 400th post giveaway here.

Very fun and bright quilt for a winters day~I'm amazed by people who quilt large projects on their regular machines...I just don't have the courage! Thanks for sharing~

I honestly despise the pinning process. Your quilt is fabulous and the quilting is perfect.

The colours you chose for your quilt are marvellous! I love the quilt pattern, reminds me of a Norwegian ski sweater. The swirly quilting design makes a perfect finish....and yes, pinning is not my favourite part of quilting, either. Happy quilting New Year!

LOVE LOVE LOVE that quilt!! As a knitter, I'm a little impartial to the Fair Isle design, but yours came out gorgeous! Love your quilting on it too!! The swirls are so pretty :-)

I love the quilting! I think that will be quilting swirls on mine. I am not brave enough to freehand it on my machine, so I use Groovy Boards on the longarm still. Someday the braveness will kick in for me!

This is beautiful! I had planned to get started on this, with a black background, but ran out of time.

I love this quilt! It looks like a sweater design, but bigger. It is so pretty, and your color choices are right up my alley. LOVE the pink in it with the green and red! It is a show stopper. Hugs, ~Cori
