WIP Wednesday...Yay!

I am still here and I am finding that I am still enjoying sewing, although not as prolifically as before. Just plodding along really. And for now, that's okay by me. The mojo is still there, just turned down a bit. For today, this is what I have for you:

Remember these? Back in January I picked these great spring greens from my stash. I was really wanting to make a small quilt for above the mantle that was really spring-y. I let this sit and gel for a bit and finally came up with a plan.
A single, large Dresden plate in spring greens, with a sunny yellow center to represent, duh, the sun! I wanted a very pale blue Kona solid to represent the sky in the spring. You know, those days when the sun still feels so thin? I think this one is Bluebell. It looks really grey here, but that is just the indoor lighting.
I am debating the quilting of this. Any thoughts? I have already decided to bind in one of these great spring greens too. Should finish at about 34 inches square. Lovin' it so far. Happy Wednesday to you. Linking up with Lee at Freshly Pieced.

Beautiful Dresden! I love the happy spring colors. I think we all ebb and flow with our quilting and sewing, even without illness and other outside influences. If you are enjoying it... go for it... and if not... don't worry about it. I'm not much help with the quilting. I would just go around each petal and the center and then echo quilt the points out to the edges. Whatever you decide to do, I'm sure it will be perfect!

I'm usually not a big fan of Dresdens -- but this is lovely! And definitely spring-y. :)

Beautiful! Greens are such fun because there are so many different shades of green. For quilting, you might take a look at the long arm digitized designs at Wasatch Quilting even if you are not planning on quilting on a long-arm or having your quilt quilted by a long armer. I want to make a Dresden plate just to use some of the designs I've seen there. The centers can be cross-hatched and then each blade can have a design quilted in the center of the blade. Different than outline quilting. Just a thought. Beautiful work on your quilt!

Love your Dresden. I made my first one awhile back and found how fun and easy they are. Green is my favorite color so all those fabrics are right up my alley.

I like your idea and it should certainly help bring up thoughts of spring, if it ever gets here.
