Sunday Stash

It has been forever since I used to post on Sunday Stash. I really haven't felt like I had anything really worth sharing...until now. I bought a couple of yards of this fabric this week, and a jelly roll. I hardly ever buy jelly rolls anymore, but I felt the need to have a bit of every color of this line. When you see it you'll understand. Here we go:

I laid them all out on my ironing board and they were just so beautiful, I had to share pictures.

The colors... oh man, the colors. This, in case you weren't aware, is V and Company's newest line, Ombre Confetti Metallic. I read on instagram that this stuff is going so fast, they are already reprinting it and will even be shipping more precuts. That is unprecedented to make more precuts. Find some if you can, because this is one of those I think you will regret not having. Have a peaceful Sunday. I think I am just going to stare at my fabric.

Sunday Stash

This is my first Sunday Stash in a very long time. Two reasons for that: I am a bit lazy with taking photos these days and I am mainly sewing from my stash this year.  I have not been buying too much fabric. Here is my new addition:

From left to right, Spot On in Strawberry, Carolina Gingham in Periwinkle and Whispers Muslin Mates by Moda. Nothing flashy, but I wanted to go visit my local quilt shop for the last time. The owner is retiring and the shop is closing. It is a sad thing for my community. There are other shops, much more of a drive away from here. Many, myself included, will not make that drive. We hope that someone sees the need eventually and changes this, but you and I know how hard it is to open a shop and keep it going these days.

My shop here is Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill NC. They had tons of fabrics, lots of batiks and solids. They were a Bernina dealer and had notions and threads galore. They offered many classes over the years. They started small and grew several times in the 23 years they were in business. We shall all miss them.

If you have a local quilt store, show them some love. Internet shopping is big and easy, but you don't know how much you will miss the ability to go local, until you can't. Have a great day all.

Sunday Stash #35

Not much fabric procurement going on here. I am trying to finish up a bunch of projects and to not start too many more. But, you know how it is when you are sitting at the computer and you are just looking around. So I decided to Google Sunkissed by Sweetwater. My all time favorite fabric line for oh, so many reasons. And I found some!!! On etsy for a crazy low low price. So I had to buy it.

 I absolutely love these dots! The colors are so pretty and I know the lighting doesn't do them justice. If you had or have some of this fabric, you will know what I mean.

 The three top prints are all 1/2 yard cuts and the bottom dot print is a full yard, plus there is another 12 inch cut that is separate. All this goodness for...drumroll please...$12.99!!! Truly my lucky day!!

And, the seller included this panel for making a bag. It is Debbie Mumm for JoAnn Fabrics. I am going to stitch this baby up for spring farmers market shopping!!

Sunday Stash #34

I joined a club. Southern Fabrics has a stash club. I know other shops out there do also, and I can give not particular reason for choosing this one. It seemed like the thing to do at the time. Every month I will get a fat quarter bundle in a specific colorway. This will help me build my stash, and I don't have to decide which fabrics to choose. Should be fun, kind of a surprise for every month. January's color is red.

 Such a lovely, lively bundle, yes? I have two of these in my stash already, but I really needed more reds. I have so very few.

It's quite an assortment. I can't tell you what they all are, as I did not get selvedges with some of them. I am sure you will recognize them though. Now, this has to tide me over until February's bundle gets here. Hope I can wait! Linking up with Molli Sparkles Sunday Stash.

Sunday Stash #32

Almost Christmas and the end of the year is near too. Here is what I got this week:

 First, I got this lovely Anna Maria Horner Pretty Potent Echinacea flannel. It is so soft and the colors are so vibrant it fairly glows. I bought 2 yards to use a a backing of a small, light weight blanket for myself. Can't wait to see this one done.

 This pretty pink beauty is Kumari Garden Marala Pink. So pretty and soft. I did tell you pink was my color this year, right?

 And a regular quilting cotton of the Anna Maria Horner Pretty Potent Echinacea print. I love this one in all the colorways. I just need to figure out how to use it.

 And look at this! I was delighted to get this. I got an extra 4-5 inches of fabric! I bought this lot from Fabric.com. I took this as being my reward for having to wait a week and a half for my fabric. It usually doesn't take quite that long.

And, apparently, I forgot that I just ordered some of this, so now I have 2 half yard cuts of this Amy Butler. You ever do that? Linking up to Molli Sparkles for Sunday Stash.

Sunday Satash #30

Been awhile since I did Sunday Stash. I am trying to keep from buying fabric right now, but had some I realized I hadn't shared yet.

 These are Gracie Girl by Riley Blake Designs. Love these and had to have them after I saw them on somebody else's Sunday Stash awhile back.

 These numbers are also from Gracie Girl. The red stripe I cannot remember what that one is. I will go look later and edit this post .

And then I just had to grab a few more oval elements. Love that line. Linking up to Sunday Stash at Molli Sparkles.

Sunday Stash #29

I just had to look and see what number this post would be. I haven't posted a stash post in all of October. Not because there was nothing to post, but because I was feeling lazy. I even had pictures on the computer of some things I bought. So I am back now. First of all, I bought a whole bolt of Kona white. No picture of that, but great thanks to Julie at Intrepid Thread. She got it to me so quickly. This is the first time I have bought a whole bolt of anything and I am loving it!
Next, these:

 Trying to control my spending, so I bought just one yard of my favorite in each collection. This is Anna Maria Horner's Pretty Potent.

 I love these bees in this colorway from Tula Pink's new line. I have already started fussy cutting some for a project.

And this is my favorite from Jeni Baker's new line, Geometric Bliss. I just love the uneven stripes and the colors. Linking up with Molli Sparkles for Sunday Stash.

Sunday Stash #27-Heather Ross Edition

So, I know many of you have seen it, and many of you have purchased it. I just received my pre-order of the newly printed Heather Ross Far Far Away line. It is everything I hoped it would be.

 It came all folded together flat. I am the one who re-folded and stacked it like this. I used Jeni Baker's method for folding. These are all half yard cuts. I pre-ordered mine directly from Heather Ross. I know they were in stores before I got mine this week, but hey, I got them anyway.

 Here is the whole collection laid out together. So many colors of snails and unicorns.

 Here are the snails and the two color ways of the princess and the mattresses;pink and cream.

 And here are all five colors of the unicorn print and the flowers and the frogs. I love the frogs.

This is my favorite colorway of the froggy print. I do love yellow so much and the frog really shows up well on this one. Linking up to Molli Sparkles for Fabric Stash Sunday.

Sunday Stash #25-Rush Hour

So, I signed up for one of Madame Samm's blog hops that is coming in late September. The theme is Rush Hour and it is based on this fabric by Studio e. This is Rush Hour. I chose half yard cuts of these six prints, although there are more in the line. It is rainy and cloudy here this weekend, so not very good lighting.

 Love the coffee cups and the numbers/letters. I do have an idea for this hop, and I am trying to make it work. Good thing I have time, because looks like I may need it.

 I had to Google Rush Hour fabric and Studio e to find this as it is just now showing up in shops. I found mine at Erica's Craft and Sewing Center on line, but she has a brick and mortar store in South Bend Indiana. So glad I found her. She shipped it really fast too.

Sunday Stash #23

My stash addition this week was through a winning draw. I so love getting emails that say "You're the winner." I receive a newsletter from Winter Creek Cloth, an on line fabric company with lots of beautiful fabric. They do a drawing of those who receive their newsletter each month and this month it was me!
This is what I won: an 8 fat quarter set of Jungle Avenue!

 It's no secret I love Art Gallery fabrics. They have the softest hand of any "regular" quilting fabric. Only Voile and Lawn are softer, but they are much thinner.

 Look at the cool prints here. The two black and whit prints are awesome and this picture doesn't really do justice to the brightness of the pinks. My hubby likes the dots and they way they are not perfectly white. Makes them not so stark.

Hard to pick a favorite of all these, but the flowers on the top right might just be it. Unless it's the elephants and the buildings on the bottom left. Sunday Stash #20

Only one thing new in the stash this week. I am trying to back off buying so much fabric since I have to start using what I have more. Wish I could sew faster. I did buy a roll of Warm and Natural batting from Joann for half off week before last. That should help make lots of quilts. This week, I bought this:

 Six yards of Gail Kessler"s Dimple Dots in vanilla. This is the main/background fabric for the wedding quilt I am making for my daughter and new son-in-law.

 All the rest of the fabrics are fall colors in Dimple Dots as well. I can't wait to see this queen size beauty come together. She requested that it be quilted with leaves all over. I think I am going to let my longarm quilter do that.

And this is the great pattern I will be using. Once I finish this one, I may make a few smaller ones in other colorways. That seems like fun, right? Linking up with Sunday stash at Quilts from the Attic.

Sunday Stash #18

So I bought this cute little bundle from Fort Worth Fabrics this past week. They offer these cute little bundles on Fridays and the greens in this one made me fall for it.

The main print is from Blend Fabrics and there were 2 fat quarters of it. The rest of the fabrics were Michael Miller, Art Gallery and others. Not all had the selvedge, so I can't name them. That is one of the drawbacks to buying such a bundle sometimes. But it sure is pretty. Linking up with Sunday Stash at Sewing by Moonlight.

Sunday Stash # 17

Sew, here we are. Sunday again. I have been seeing and drooling over Jeni Baker's new line, Dreamin' Vintage. The colors so soft and the patterns truly remind me of vintage sheets from the 60's or there about.

 I bought half yard cuts from one of my favorite shops, Hawthorne Threads. I wanted to choose only the prints I really loved and thought I would use. These first three are from the cool colorway. It was hard to narrow it down to these, but I am trying not to go fabric crazy again.

 These are the three I chose from the warm colorway. They are even better in person. Now that I see them on the computer, I am noticing a bit of shadowing. I am not the best photographer. The softness of Art Gallery Fabrics is unbelievable. I think I know exactly what I want to make with these.

 This is a half yard of Crosshatch Sketch in coral, by Timeless Treasures. I love the Sketch fabrics. They are the perfect addition to a stash, no matter the color you choose. This coral is so very pretty.

 And look, a happy coincidence, it goes very nicely with the Dreamin' Vintage fabrics too.

Sunday Stash #16

Ahhhhh...Sunday. I love Sundays all year long, but in the spring, with the birds singing in the background it's heavenly. So here is my stash post for this week. I know I said I would settle for the horse print in white from the Wee Wander line, but after that post, I thought, lets just look and see if any more had come in to Hawthorne Threads. You know, just a look. And then this happened:

 They had completely restocked! So I bought a half yard of each and now I have all three colorways, which was not my original intention. But these are so pretty.  And then, just to get something else I had been thinking about, I bought this:

 This is the Fox and the Houndstooth by Robert Kaufman. I love those dapper little foxes and I thought this would make something cute for B.  I think it's going to become a pillowcase.

 Those vests! Those hats! the bow tie and monocle! I love this cute fabric! I am now waiting on some grey houndstooth for the pillowcase edge.
