Fall Wedding Quilt Finished

Finally got around to finishing and photographing the Fall Wedding Quilt for my daughter and her husband. They had planned to be married this October, but circumstances made that not work out, so they went to the courthouse last February and tied the knot there. Fall is her favorite season and she wanted a quilt that would really bring that out. So without further ado, here it is:
This first shot is so funny. My hubby is standing on the picnic table and is still not big enough for this queen size beauty.
So we laid it down on the grass.

This is Aria Lane's Concerto pattern. I made one change to the original by adding a fourth color to the squares on the left side.

Here you can get a glimpse of the beautiful quilting. I have a wonderful long arm quilter here locally and whenever I have a large quilt, I take it to her. Suzan did a wonderful job helping me to select this all over pattern to give the feel of blowing leaves. Her studio is called Singing Stitches and they certainly do sing!
The back was a fabric I chanced upon during Christa Quilts sale when she was closing her on-line shop. I think I paid $4 a yard for 5 yards!

I threw it on my bed here. Fits pretty good!

A close up of the quilting here. She used a variegated thread on the top, which was just perfect.
So, here it is my darling daughter. I hope you and T enjoy it for years and years together. Happy wedding!

Friday Finish-Queen Size

I finished a queen size quilt top this week. I have been working on this for a bit. It's not that it was hard to piece, just the size that made it take awhile. This is the top for a wedding quilt for my daughter and her new husband. I am very excited to see this one done.
This was a few weeks ago. I am using the Concerto pattern by Alyssa of Pile 'O Fabric. Her pattern company is called Aria Lane. I fell for this pattern when I first saw it and was just waiting for the perfect time to make it. I did make one change to add one more color than it called for. My daughter requested autumn colors as that is their favorite season.
And here it is, a bit wrinkled, but all assembled. Since this beauty is so big, I am going to have my favorite long arm quilter do the quilting. My daughter requested a leaf pattern for the quilting, which I will honor, but with a bit of a twist. That is a surprise.
Once the quilting is done, I will be back to show it off to you. Have a great weekend. Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts for Friday Finish.

Got Nothing Finished Friday

I realized I had not been here since Monday. I love being able to link up with all the Friday Finish posts and have people stopping by, but I seem to have so many things in progress that are taking longer to complete. Hence the title of today's post.

So here is what I have in the works right now...
This is my Belle Waves quilt top. I finally got another couple yards of Kona white so I can continue on with the piecing of this. I am half way done. I did swap out the two partial blocks at the top for some made with the Essentials floral print in keeping with the pattern I have in mind.
Then this guy got a backing an all pinned up in anticipation of quilting. I can't believe how many pins it took and how long. But my Aurifil 40 weight thread that I ordered came, so now I am ready!
And lastly, a bit wrinkled, here is the first half of the queen size Concerto quilt I am piecing for my daughter and her new husband. I love this pattern and each size requires different size blocks, so it is going together quite nicely and quickly too. These squares are 7 3/4 inches.  This one really gets me excited to see it together.

And so, these are the projects that are keeping me busy these days. Thank you for dropping by, even if a linky didn't get you here, I love that you did. Talk to you soon.
